Song for the Soul

We turn feeling into song.

I’ll walk you through the process of songwriting to craft your personal anthem.

This is for anyone who has experienced loss, huge change or just needs connection. We create space for whats needing to be felt, then you walk away with a song you can listen to and sing over and over again until you’re ready for the next chapter.

Listen to Claire’s experience of the process.

“My 21 years of writer’s block is gone! I am just so grateful.”

— Carol Widder

Frequently Asked Questions

  • While it has therapeutic benefits, this program is a mix of artistic practice with group work.

Daniel is a trained group facilitator and personal coach, though this in no way replaces therapy and every participant is encouraged to pursue all forms of work that are fruitful for their own mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing.

  • This work is my vital gift to the world, while at the same time requires income to sustain.

That said my asking price for a 90 minute 1x1 session is $200, and groups programs range from $300 - $975.

    HOWEVER!

I do have an allotment for scholarships and discount as much as I can. Please don’t hesitate to contact me for a free discovery call to see what we can make happen!

  • No problem! I’ve written songs with my small children and absolute beginners.

The method is simple, you talk, I write down what you say and shape it into a song. We co-write in this fashion.

I leave room for you to add to it lyrically or musically at your hearts content.

  • I pull from two main sources

    • The Grief Recovery Handbook

    • My personal experience writing songs for 20+ years.

The Grief Recover institute created a handbook that simply mapped out their proven strategy for completing the cycle of grieving.

In it they state that we require a witness in order to fully let go of grief, and they provide exercises like the relationship graph in order to explore one’s personal history to find where the grief is hiding in the past.

Beyond that I have written countless songs through joy and tears that have helped me to process the major losses and changes of my life, including losing loved ones, ending relationships, becoming a parent, losing my identity and more.

  • I split writing shares 50/50 with my collaborators.

It’s an honest question. What we’re creating is a piece of art or intellectual property. What I’m doing is taking your story and putting it into that form. It could not be without your contribution, even if all you did was speak.

So in the chance that we write a brilliant song that somewhere down the line produces income, that would be shared as well.

You are welcome to waive this right, and if you produce a song all on your own, you’re more than welcome to keep full ownership.

  • Your emotional and mental safety is of the upmost importance to me when we’re working together.

I will at every step request your permission to use names, stories or recorded testimonials, and will happily keep them anonymous at your request.

We’re entering into sacred territory when we address something as profoundly deep as grief and loss. I want that respect to be carried throughout every step of the process.
